Time and place: 26 June, 8:30-10:00 am CET, Room 0.14
Join us at the upcoming Living Planet Symposium (LPS 2025) for a dynamic networking session showcasing our European Space Agency’s Forest Carbon Monitoring (FCM) project and our versatile toolset for Earth Observation (EO)-based forest biomass and carbon monitoring. Designed to support a wide spectrum of forestry stakeholders, our FCM tools address key needs from policy compliance reporting (e.g. CRCF, LULUCF), voluntary private-sector reporting, to scientific applications including digital twins and ecosystem analysis.
Built collaboratively with user partners from private companies, government bodies, and international organizations, the toolset integrates multi-source EO data with field observations. Demonstrated in over ten diverse use cases across Europe and tropical regions, the tools support applications from continental-scale forest mapping to monitoring small private estates. The toolset will be accessible via the Forestry TEP platform, also through the ESA Network of Resources (NoR) portal, and as OGC-compatible packages.
Our session will begin with a brief project overview and introduction to the tools, followed by real-world user presentations. We’ll then open the floor for an engaging discussion — an opportunity to ask questions, share feedback, and connect with peers and project developers.
Whether you're a policymaker, researcher, or forest manager, this is your chance to explore how EO-driven tools can support your forest carbon monitoring goals.
We look forward to seeing you there!
